Why fescue lawns need it every fall
Tall fescue is a bunch-type grass, not a spreading one — it can’t send out runners to fill in bare or thinning patches the way bermuda or zoysia can. Every year some fescue plants die back from summer heat stress, and without new seed those spots just stay thin.
