A lot of the newer subdivisions around Spring Hill and the edges of Franklin were graded and compacted heavily during construction, then had sod laid right on top. That compacted layer keeps water, air, and fertilizer from ever reaching the actual root zone.
Core aeration pulls real plugs of soil out of the lawn, relieving that compaction so the roots can actually use everything the Turf Care Program puts down. We add it once a year, in the fall, on top of a regular program visit.
